April Activity:---Let explore NC-part 1

Drive to Seagrove. We will be leaving on April 5 to take a drive to Seagrove. We will first stop at the Pisgah covered bridge. We will then stop of at some of the pottery stores. Now for lunch….Jugtown Café and Bakery.  One more store before going home and that will be Zimmerman’s Vineyards.

            George brought up to go to the Corvette Museum, May 9-10. Talking about leaving on a Thursday and on Friday@ 10 you would get a private tour. Cost would only be 5.00.  Options to stay are either the Grand Old Opera at 169.00 a night or the Hampton Inn.

First meeting at Labonte. 40 members showed up. Labonte gave the club a check for 2,000 and will not be doing catering. Meeting room will be changing due to a renovation happening at Labonte.  They will be looking into a patch, jacket or some kind of logo for the club to have when we go to events.

            Quick fact---maintained and repairs, you will receive a 10% discount as long as the work is done at Lebonte’s.  No discount done for oil changes.

 

Working up updating the membership list so that no one is left out when it comes to planning and participating in the events.

Roland fired Ladda. He did not come through with what was promise. Roland met with another company in Greensboro. He will be talking to the manager on Monday. At that time, Roland will set up a meeting with the company and the officers and go over the information. We should have something for the next meeting. Bring you check books. We will need a minimum order of 2 dozen. Thank you Roland for your time.

Romona reported the Steve Dale is doing better. Martha’s sister had surgery and is doing well.

Mr. Latté form Latté Distributors was in to talk about getting shirts printed with our logo.

Treasury report, $1809 deposit last month bring the bank total up to $2767.80

We would like to Thank Debbie for bring dessert and Parks for providing sandwiches from Just Wrap.

Outings:

The golf outing coming up will be having a cater lunch. You can go and not play golf and still eat, just need a head count

8 cars so far going to Myrtle beach outing

Sky line drive cruise. May 12. Will be leaving on Friday, cruise is all day Saturday.

April 28, Ladies day out to River Twist in Jamestown. There will be a seminar on patio gardening and lunch. Will start at 10:00

Reminder, Maggie Valley trip, will be leaving on May 25

On Sunday, County Corvettes will be cruising to Cody Creek to eat. Anyone wanting to go will be leaving from Winston at 2:30.

Minutes from 1-19-07 meeting

Dave called the meeting to order. This was the first meeting with the new board.

Gary talked about loosing a dear member, Big John. The club raised about $1,000 for expenses for the family. There will be a memorial service on Feb. 2 at 2:00 in Lewisville. In the spring there was talk about dedicating the 1st cruise in at Fire Mountain to Big John.

A card was passed around for all to sign to send to Sherry, Big John’s sister.

Larry and Roland with are in charge of merchandise. The club is asking for more colors, something a little dressier, golf shirt and/or T-shirts.

Old business: Christmas party went well. Mikey has next one already in the planning stages.

New business: Forms were passed out so members can update there data, address, phone and cars. Then another form was passed out to each table for the member to brain storm on some activities they would like to do this year.

One event for January is Super Bowl Party at Tim and Linda Hights, check the front page of the website.

It was asked for some of the ladies to get together and plan a dinner for a Friday. It was talked about on doing a dinner once a month on the first Friday of every month and Wednesday dinners to be 4th of every month. Nothing has been set yet.

Another event to watch for is in February. Big Mike was talking about a trip to Richmond for a drag race. As soon as he receives more information, it will be posted on the web.

Spur of the moment event, first one for the year would happen on Saturday Jan 20. Meet at the Exxon gas station on 66 at 10:30 and drive to Siler City for a Hamburger.

Next meeting is February 16 at 7:00pm
